Electronics fuels global growth, with semiconductors at its core. IIT Bombay has led India's semiconductor research, establishing the Center for Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CENs) and hosting the Skilled Manpower Development Program (SMDP). These efforts have fostered industry partnerships and developed top talent, with our alumni leading in global semiconductor industries.
India aims to be a global semiconductor hub, and IIT Bombay is key to this vision. We created the Center for Semiconductor Technologies (SemiX) to integrate resources and talent, driving India's semiconductor aspirations. With strong industry ties and experienced alumni, SemiX will transform semiconductor research, training, and policy development.
Professor Udayan Ganguly is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay and leads SemiX.
He specializes in semiconductor device physics, memory technologies, and neuromorphic systems.
He has published over 50 journal articles, holds more than 25 patents, and has received the Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship.
